The band's problem is low-fidelity/poor quality recordings of new songs ending up on YouTube, and said they won't take the "risk" of playing any more new songs until the album is released because they don't want poor quality copies floating around.

Speaking to Gigwise, Sam Fogarino said:

The advent of youtube, to have your record portrayed in such a low fidelity medium is awful. I mean it's flattering that somebody feels the need to get the live performances up of these songs right away, but the thought of having our whole album on a DV cassette through some broadband wire is ridiculous.

Maybe the really ridiculous thing is how long it takes an album to go from finished to stores, though. We've had the tracklisting, artwork, and live videos for a while now -- why is the album being held back until July?

Sam went on to say the band wouldn't be playing any more of the new songs over the next month:

You think about all the work that you put into producing that album and making it sound as grand as it does, and being exciting about finally unveiling, and then you just hear noise on youtube. We just can't take that risk.
