About a week ago, the Spice Girls added three dates to the group's reunion tour. They also announced that a fourth show would occur in "Spice City," a location to be chosen based on fan votes.
What the Spice Girls didn't count on was a bunch of people on the Internet trying to totally screw them over. A movement began on the website Fark.com to choose Baghdad, Iraq as the fourth new city on the Spice Girls' tour. About 10,000 people have clicked through from that site alone to vote for "Spice City," with most of them presumably voting for Baghdad.
A Spice Girls spokesperson confirmed that the group will play whatever city gets the most votes, regardless of whether there are suicide bombers running around said city.
The girls will go anywhere in the world that gets the most votes - be it Baghdad or Antartica.
Antarctica... hmm, that's not a bad idea. While Baghdad would be pretty funny, it's not like the Spice Girls would just be walking around the town center while bombs went off beside them. They'd have a ridiculous amount of protection. I'm casting my vote for Compton, CA. The odds of getting shot at are just as good, plus they'd get booed off stage in ten minutes.
Cast your votes here. By the way, I don't care what that spokesperson says, should Baghdad be in the running, there will definitely be some Florida-style hanging chad action.
