Incubus launches a North American tour on July 10th, and the band is making sure that the trek won't leave a negative result on the environment. Yahoo Business reports that Incubus has teamed up with SMART (Sustainable Minded Artists Recording and Touring) to make sure the pollution and waste caused by this tour is minimal.

The band, along with SMART, will be taking the following steps to ensure they meet this goal:

* Reduce CO2 emissions by fueling tour vehicles with biodiesel and reducing vehicle idling at venues

* Offset the tour's remaining emissions via carbon dioxide offsets through NativeEnergy

* Use sustainable goods and services including organic food, organic cotton merchandise, and 100% recycled paper

* Reduce waste by using less disposables and working with venues to increase recycling

* Encouraging fans to take action by providing information at shows, selling fan offsets, and facilitating tabling by environmental groups including Heal The Bay, Surfrider Foundation, The Ocean Conservancy, and Environmental Defense Fund

Singer Brandon Boyd said, "It's incredibly important to us as a band to preserve the environment when we're on tour. We now have the resources to not only neutralize our carbon footprint, but to help make the environment better each time we're on tour."

As long as they don't turn into a jam band and start playing 37 minute versions of "Dig," this is definitely a good thing.

Incubus has also announced that "Oil & Water" will be the next single off the Light Grenades album. Interesting choice. The band has just sort of skipped over the song "Love Hurts," which should have already become a huge hit by this point. It even has a video...
