Oh yeah, I had to go there with the headline. But actually, it's a fair headline, because today, I have some great news to share. First off, despite claims of an extended break, My Chemical Romance will be giving the US another tour go-around, before they "go write a new record." The shows are in smaller venues than the huge arena tour, and will feature Billy Talent and Drive By as the support. So far, we have partial West Coast and Southern dates, so of course, I am crawling out of my skin for the East Coast announcement -- but here's what we have so far:

Sat/3-29 Tuscon, AZ
Sun/3-30 Las Vegas, NV
Thu/4-3 San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield On Sale Sun, 2/17 at 10:00 am PST

Fri/4-25 Baton Rouge, LA
Sat/4-26 Houston, TX
Sun/4-27 Dallas, TX
Mon/4-28 Austin, TX
Fri/5-2 Memphis, TN

So much for their break, huh? I'm torn on this one, as you can imagine. They've been touring almost non-stop for over a year now... at the same time? I get another few shows from My Chemical Romance and it won't be in a cavernous venue.

Meanwhile, in other news that tickles me pink [oh. just stop it, pixie!], Max Bemis of Say Anything coined a new phrase when speaking to the Canadian newspaper Eye Weekly -- "Emophobia." In response to a question about a review that called Max's songs "so narcissistic, they're essentially masturbation," Max was his witty self, and said, "I mean, that’s a lie. But anyone who thinks their music is worth thousands of people’s time and money, there’s a certain level of narcissism in any artist. As much as I’m being defensive, because someone’s being a dick, that’s a valid claim. But it’s also another by-product of emophobia."

I'm pretty sure this officially makes emo a protected class and picking on us is a hate crime, because Max Bemis' word is law!

In other awesome news, Alkaline Trio has started filming videos of themselves in the studio... though we don't get any hint of what the new songs sound like, it's nice to hear what they're up to and how they'll be doing the new album:

Want to save some money? Head over to Doghouse Records' Web store, and get 15% off all the merchandise they have in the store. May I recommend you check out Weatherbox? I only looked into them because they're opening for Say Anything next month, and I really, really like them. You can also get discounts on "classic" merchandise from The Get Up Kids, Say Anything, and The All-American Rejects, if you are so inclined. Or you could buy me stuff, as well. Either way, really.

Finally, in honor of Valentine's Day, Travis of We The Kings filmed and recorded a really adorable acoustic version of "Secret Valentine." I love this a lot -- enjoy:

And that's what's going on. As you can see, it's a good news day from where I'm sitting -- seeing as nothing bad happened and everything kind of amuses/pleases me in today's report. This is how it should always be! Happy dead flowers and cheap chocolate day.... and rock on!
