Matt McGinley is currently holed up in a Mexican prison for an unknown reason. He was arrested on Sunday night, and the band has hired a lawyer to try and save their drummer from the dreaded Mexican prison. The band was in the country for a taping.
As for what he did to get arrested, there has been no official statement or comment as of yet. The band used The Academy Is... drummer "The Butcher" to fill in for the taping.
The arrest couldn't come at a worse time; the band is in the middle of a sold-out US tour, and they are riding high on the success of their single "Cupid's Chokehold."
