Billie Joe Armstrong was named the #3 "Rock God" by Kerrang Magazine. I know that lists like this are completely arbitrary and meant to fire people up, but seriously, if you want to see a highly questionable list, check this one out. Amy Lee and Gerard Way beat Slash and Robert Plant? And it's not even close? Dimebag Darryl twelve spots above Axl Rose? Interesting. Plus, #4 is some guy named "Eddie"; and it's not Vedder or Van Halen, who are both lower on the list.
In other Green Day news, the band is nominated in the upcoming MTV Australia Video Music Awards. Go here to vote for the guys.
Green Day is also teaming up with the National Resources Defense Council to help the environment. Watch the video below, and go to this website to learn about ways you can help out. Wow, instead of bitching about politics, they're actually showing people what they can do to make changes. What a novel concept.
Finally, in made-up Green Day news... Now that it's finally eligible, I'd like to welcome the song "Jesus of Suburbia" into the Tom Z Jukebox Hall of Fame. The Tom Z Jukebox Hall of Fame weighs three criteria: song quality, length of song, and party-appropriateness. Not only is "Jesus of Suburbia" a great song and an upbeat tune, but at 9 minutes, you're really getting your quarter's worth. Congratulations, Green Day.
