George Michael was arrested back in October for suspicion of being unfit to drive and for possession of substance believed to be cannabis. Translation: He passed out at the wheel in the middle of an intersection.
Michael's trial began yesterday in London, and he entered a plea of guilty, according to NME.
Michael told the judge:
I did something very stupid and I am very ashamed since doing it. I'm not used to defending myself in a position where I am ashamed of something.
I really have been very distressed by this whole thing. I am perfectly aware that I did something very wrong and got into my car when I was unfit to drive.
I was not in my normal physical state and I'm perfectly prepared to accept the correct punishment for that.
He added, "What has this world come to when you can't even get high and pass out in the middle of an intersection? Lame. Plus, I mean, I'm rich, I just assumed I could get off."
Michael must appear back in court on May 30-31 and June 8th.
[PS - He never said that last thing.]
