George Michael's June 9th concert at Wembley Stadium, which marked the re-opening of the venue for musical performances, has cost him 130,000 pounds in fines.

Michael's set ran 13 minutes over its permitted time. Wembley issues fines of £10,000 per minute when an artist runs over his or her allotted time, and as such, Michael will have to pay £130,000 to the arena.

While we can all agree that Michael should be fined thousands of dollars for his singing, this is a pretty dick move by Wembley. They asked Michael to help re-introduce the arena to the public after it had been closed for renovations, and then they fine him an astronomical amount for running 13 minutes over? It's not like 13 minutes is a very long time. You can't even solicit an undercover police officer in a public bathroom in 13 minutes. Hell, you can barely even say "solicit an undercover police officer in a public bathroom" in 13 minutes. Anyway, if you believe in karma, you can expect a bunch of soccer hooligans to tear the new Wembley to shreds at some point in the near future.
