The unstoppable man in country music came back with a
vengeance on last week's Billboard country singles chart. Garth Brooks dropped
in at No. 1 with "More Than a Memory," the first country single ever to debut
at the top spot. Previously, Kenny Chesney held the record with "Don't Blink,"
which debuted the week before "Memory" at No. 16.
Mr. Brooks, who has sold more than 100 million albums and singles, retired in 2000 but is back with a greatest hits package from Big Machine Records.
The album will be the first in Brooks' collection to be sold outside of Wal-Mart since he signed an exclusive agreement with the company in 2005. The package will be titled The Ultimate Hits and is due out on November 7.
