The RZA will be competing in a tournament, too. What, no GZA? Do I have to remind you all of the most awesome day ever? I guess I do:

On a beautiful summer day last summer, my friend (Calamari40oz) and I were walking through Washington Square Park when we stumbled upon none other than the GZA playing chess with the experts and hustlers. We kicked it with him for a bit and both creamed jeans with excitement. Proof?

Anyhow, there's plenty going on at the Hip-Hop Chess Federation's 1st Annual Chess Kings Invitational including a panel of hip-hoppers and chess masters alike. The main deal? P4k divulges, "The RZA will also compete in the Invitational's main event: a chess tournament featuring the likes of Hieroglyphics' Casual, Living Legends' Sunspot Jonz, and mixed martial arts fighter Ralek Gracie as players and Rakaa of Dilated Peoples as the host."

It takes place October 13th at the San Francisco Design Center.
