Well, aside from Dirty bottling himself, at Pete's command, after Pete told the crowd he and the band didn't want to be hit with bottles. I'm kind of shocked that didn't backfire, but Dirty did manage to give himself a bloody nose, so maybe that satiated the crowd's bloodlust.
The band was all about covers at the festival this weekend, doing "Don't Matter" by Akon and "Ignition" by R. Kelly, as well as "Beat It" by Michael Jackson and most strangely of all, "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News. Why? I don't even know if they could tell you why. I don't know; maybe they like the song. Maybe Patrick Bateman of "American Psycho" is choosing their setlists these days.
According to the NME, the band played:
'Thriller'
'Where Is Your Boy'
'The Take Over The Break's Over'
'Don't Matter/Ignition'
'Sugar, We're Going Down'
'Hum Hallelujah'
'Beat It'
'The Carpal Tunnel of Love'
'This Aint A Scene, It's An Arms Race'
'Thnks fr th Mmrs'
'One And Only'
'Dance, Dance'
'The Power Of Love'
'Saturday'
Sounds like a good set, though -- and perhaps the band has "arived" in the UK if they were spared a bottling when Pete was practically asking for one. Ah! Maybe it was just clever reverse psychology on his part?
