I'll start today by saying Scary Kids Scaring Kids are pretty damned cool.
According to Pouyan, they were told the Fire Marshall showed up because of worries about being over capacity. So, in that regard, the venue screwed up -- how do you let in/sell more tickets than capacity? After that, security wouldn't let people back in, after they cleared the room, but were supposed to let people back in. The band was playing, but someone handed them a phone with a text that said "people are being pepper sprayed," so they ended the show immediately to see what they could do to help their fans. They said the police and ambulances came, and had to help all the kids clear their eyes, as venue security apparently was responsible for the pepper spray attacks.
You know, I'm really sick of venue security people being assholes. When I saw GWAR and Cradle of Filth in December, they were being abusive to people who did nothing, and threatening everyone at the show. When I was at Sounds of the Underground, they were grabbing kids who were crowd surfing and slamming them into the stage -- and hurting people in the crowd while grabbing them. Venue security are like mall cops -- not even tough enough to get a real badge, but still over-compensating for being pathetic bullies who never outgrew high school.
I'm glad Scary Kids Scaring Kids said something about this -- they also promised to make the show up to their fans any way possible -- though I'm sorry that things like this keep happening. Nobody deserves to be treated like that by these overgrown frat boys, just because they want to see and enjoy a band.
And now here's some amusing political news that is being reported everywhere. Josh Farro of Paramore was asked about the upcoming elections, because that's all anybody talks about these days. His answer? "I haven't really looked into U.S. politicians that much this year. I really hope Hillary Clinton doesn't get elected cause she's crazy!!!!" Ah, look! Paramore is finally pleasing me immensely!
Dillinger Escape Plan stopped in on Conan O'Brien's show last night -- you can see the video here, but it sounds really weird to me -- could be the compression of the video. It definitely looks like Conan O'Brien enjoys them, though!
Sonny Moore fans -- he's added a new MySpace page with four additional songs. I guess the four-song limit was getting to him, so he went and branched out a bit. Good for him.
Eye on DeLonge: Angels and Airwaves have been added to the Warped Tour and will be playing all of the summer dates. I still want to know about the tour that NASA is involved with.
Hey, Panic at the Disco fans -- here's a clip of their new video, "Nine in the Afternoon." I... don't know. I strongly dislike this song, largely because it sounds [and looks] exactly like the Beatles. [Sorry, guys, it's true, not like you read this]. Anyway, if this is your thing? Here's a preview:
And in "wow, I have never wished I could have been at a show/video shoot more than this" news -- check out the behind the scenes for I Am Ghost's video for "Prety People Never Lie, Vampires Never Really Die":
