I'll be honest: Thanksgiving isn't the world's most exciting holiday. It's nice to pause and be thankful for the good in life, but at the same time, it's kind of focused on people gorging themselves with food, for the most part. Nonetheless, I was dying to know what emo and punk bands do to celebrate [or to not celebrate] the holiday, and started asking around.
Let's just say my day spent cooking for my boyfriend and his mother, drinking cheap wine, and slipping my dog some human food will be pretty boring comparatively because I don't get to be on tour or record a new album like these guys do.
This will be the first Thanksgiving we've spent together on tour! We're over eating turkey anyway. Sacrificing virgins is totally where its at, duh. This year we're thankful to all the bands who have taken us on tour, and all the God fearing Christians who have managed to help rather than hurt our band.
Schoolyard Saves! Thanks, dudes!
To be completely honest as sad as it is, we don't have any Thanksgiving plans. We'll be doing a huge drive to Salt Lake City, UT with 2 days off. And convienently we know no one in that area. So it'll probably be a Denny's Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. Haha. We're thankful for the opportunities we were given this last year, and all the amazing people who believe in us. Of course our families and friends are at the top of that list as well.
For Thanksgiving, I'm heading to my wonderful Grandma's house for a gigantic feast. My father's entire side of the family will be there-- 40 or so huge, jolly Italians. On Thanksgiving, I am psyched to have such a huge, entertaining group of loving people to share an amazing meal with. I'm also thankful to get to spend some time with my family before I head out on the road with my other family, all of the 1997 boys, who mean just as much to me.
This Thanksgiving me and the boys in four letter lie will probably hit up the nearest KFC in Atlanta, GA because we will be recording our fresh new album!
The band is thankful for:
hacked software,
subwoofers,
and substance.
