Nylon has a two page Eisley feature in this year's MySpace issue and the band took a sec to talk about their new album, Combinations, due on August 14. Stacy Dupree, the family group's main songwriter, told Nylon what inspired the songs on the album.
"I started listening to a lot of ‘70s rock like Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan. That inspired the dirtier sound on Combinations. Plus, now that I'm older I had more life experience to draw from - I didn't have to make up as many stories," Stacy said.
Stacy, the youngest member of the band, is only 18-years-old.
Sherri added that the band only wrote one of the songs together.
"The first single ‘Invasion' is the only song that we wrote totally together. We read Invasion of the Body Snatchers by Jack Finney and just thought it was so awesome, we had to write a song about it. It's about how it would feel if these aliens really took over the world," Sherri said.
They're really into the whole Intergalactic thing, y'know with the Star Wars reference and all.
