On Monday, the masterminds behind Atlanta's first-year festival, The Echo Project, unveiled a volley of artist additions, including The Flaming Lips, Thievery Corporation and Les Claypool, that expand on an already titillating line-up.
Other bands added on Monday include The Bravery, Secret Machines, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, MSTRKRFT, JJ Grey & MOFRO, Son Volt, The Egg, The Album Leaf, MAN MAN, Tea Leaf Green, Benevento/Russo Duo, Lazaro Casanova, and Telepath.
The festival, which is being billed as the South's first green music and arts experience, will take place on Oct. 12-14, 30 miles outside of Atlanta on 350+ privately owned acres of Bouckaert Farm, sprawling across three action-packed stages and virtually limitless campgrounds along the Chattahoochee River. According to The Echo Project's website, all the proceedings will be powered by "alternative energy sources and innovative programs for power creation and consumption." The additions announced on Monday will join an initial line-up that includes Phil Lesh and Friends, The Killers, The Roots, moe., Umphrey's McGee, Cat Power & the Dirty Blues Band, the Disco Biscuits, Cypress Hill, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Polyphonic Spree, ALO, the Avett Brothers, Stephen Marley, Brazilian Girls, Lyrics Born, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Perpetual Groove, Spam All-Stars, and RJD2.
