On July 13, 14, and 15th, Dispatch is playing three nearly-sold-out shows in Madison Square Garden to benefit charities in Zimbabwe. The band suffered creative differences (classic) in 2004 and had to split, but is reuniting to play the Garden for the good cause. Their fans are excited that the band is getting back together after playing their "final show" three summers ago. The 100,000+ attendees of that concert in Boston could feel a bit robbed now, if it hadn't been free.

Originally, the band had scheduled just two shows for Friday and Saturday night (the 13th and 14th). After those tickets went quickly, Sunday night was added and filled up as well. Madison Square Garden then offered them the option to play for two extra nights, but the band declined. I guess they want to raise money, but not too much. There are still a few tickets left on Ticketmaster, if you're interested in paying full price to sit in the upper level behind the stage with a limited view.

Now, as seen in the Ticketmaster link, the band has added an extra show on Wednesday before the Zimbabwe weekend. This one takes place at Webster Hall in New York and benefits the Waterside School for under-served children. Tickets will be sold as an online auction beginning this Friday, June 15th. The auction ends on July 6th, and only 550 pairs of tickets will be available to the public. Tickets will start at $50 a piece. Expect them to get a little pricey.

As for the band getting back together for good- "No fucking way," says guitarist Chad Urmston.
