Dimmu Borgir's success is off the charts

Or rather, at the top of them. Dimmu Borgir has officially become the first black metal band to top the Norwegian charts, as In Sorte Diaboli snagged the top spot in its debut week. The band also made the Top 50 in the US.

According to Blabbermouth, the Norwegian press is buzzing about this -- going so far as to call it "nothing less than the most radical achievement in the history of the Norwegian charts."

The band's label, Nuclear Blast, however, is not surprised by the success. Reportedly, they expected to snag the number one spot, and will be planning further advertising if the band's success continues over the next week.
