According to NME, Diddy is producing a film based on the life of his friend Notorious B.I.G. The film, which will be co-produced by B.I.G.'s mother Violetta Wallace, will be based on the book Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of The Notorious BIG by Cheo Hodari Cocker. B.I.G. died in 1997 in a drive-by in Los Angeles. The movie will show a side of Biggie's life that the public has never seen. George Tillman Jr., best known for the Barbershop series, will direct.

Diddy and the rest of the people behind the film are holding open auditions for the starring role. Anyone resembling Notorious B.I.G. can submit an audition tape, regardless of whether they have acting experience.

This is going to be so bad. An unknown, inexperienced actor playing one of the greatest rappers of all-time, and being directed by the guy who did Barbershop? What is the rock equivalent of this? A movie about Kurt Cobain, starring a random guy from the bus station, directed by the guy who did Can't Hardly Wait?
