Cristal is done. Diddy has just signed a deal with alcohol company Diageo PLC to promote Ciroc Vodka. Diddy will be involved in many areas of operation, from marketing to distribution.

 

"It is not an endorsement deal," Diddy said. "This is something that will have my daily attention."

 

He added, "I think we can convert a lot of people."

 

Amen, my brother! Considering Diddy is the best businessman ever, we should expect Ciroc to take off. Not that he needs any help, but as a former marketer, I've come up with a preliminary marketing checklist for Diddy. He's a busy guy, so maybe he can use some of these suggestions...

 

-Come up with hip, urban marketing slogan, like "Ciroc Da Club" or "You's a Ciroc-Star Baby!"

 

-Write a hot new single and include a line about Ciroc Vodka. For example, "I'm all up in da club / sippin' on Ciroc / I'm mackin' on dem shawtys / I got this shit on lock." Maybe that's not the most memorable phrase ever, but hey, not every alcohol rhymes with "party."

 

-Get in another club brawl, make sure paparazzi are present and Ciroc bottles are prominently featured in the background of photos.

 

-Stock only Ciroc at the 2008 White Party. This should be obvious.

 

-Make another commercial with Diddy taking a sip of Ciroc then banging a supermodel for 3 minutes.

 

That should be good enough for now. We'll regroup at the end of the 4th quarter and update our strategy.
