Coldplay has released a few details about the band's forthcoming yet-to-be titled new album. Here's what we know:
-The disc will be approximately 42 minutes.
-It should be around 9 songs.
-The band has recorded songs called "Cemeteries of London," "Violet Hill," "Poppy Fields," "42," "Leftrightleftrightleft," "Rainy Day," "Lost!" and "Yes!" However, it is not guaranteed that all of these songs will make the album.
-The album won't be finished for a few months.
Looks like we'll have to wait until 2008 for the album.
I'm going to make a couple predictions based on this limited knowledge.
1) This will be a pseudo-concept album. Meaning, they won't market it as a concept album, but all of the tracks will revolve around a common theme or a couple common themes (just a guess - that theme will be depression/having an incomplete life).
2) It won't be huge commercially compared to older Coldplay albums, but a bunch of people will credit the album with "saving their lives."
I base these predictions on absolutely nothing (except intuition) and I look forward to being proven horribly wrong in 2008.
