Chris Daughtry and his band, Daughtry, performed the song "It's Not Over" off the album Daughtry on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" last night. I still don't understand why he didn't just go all the way and name the song "Daughtry."

Here's a sample of Blender's review:

One-time "American Idol" rocker Chris Daughtry and his band make B-minus level Nickelback songs filled with already-dated grunge guitars, powerful grunge vocals and a the stifling humorlessness of a tax man. He's, like, a serious artist (man)--a serious artist who just happened to rise to fame on the most flamboyant talent show of all-time. And Daughtry's performance of "It's Not Over" on Conan last night did nothing but feed into the Pennyback criticisms.

Woah, easy there. I'm not exactly president of the Chris Daughtry Fan Club, but can we give this guy a break? He came in fourth on "American Idol"; contrary to public belief you do need talent to make the top four of a national singing competition. He's also sold 2 million records, which must count for something. "It's Not Over" is not a groundbreaking tune, but I've heard a lot worse. Here is the clip of Daughtry's performance. Personally, I didn't notice anything particulary noteworthy about it (good or bad).  It wasn't as good as his performance from Hell (pictured above), but it was alright.  Judge for yourself.
