DJ Drama, he of the Gangsta Grillz mixtape series and Drama-gate fame, is continuing to hype his forthcoming major label debut.

The DJ spoke to SOHH.com yesterday about coming back strong:

I'm about to drop it after working on it for a good year-and-a-half. The album is crazy, it's like a Gangsta Grillz mixtape on steroids... I wanted to take the formula I had for the mixtapes and take it to the masses.

He also mentioned what he'd been up to since his January arrest on racketeering charges at the behest of the RIAA for his mixtape business:

It's not stress for me. Since my arrest I've been to two continents, 36 states and a couple magazine covers. It's more thumbs up than thumbs down. It's still pending right now, I haven't been indicted, I haven't been to court, thank God I'm not in jail -- so you know I'm good.

More with Drama can be read here. Gangsta Grillz The Album does not yet have a set drop date, but will see release from (please take note RIAA) Asylum Records.

Admit it: how good was it to hear the "gangsta grizzzzzillllzzzz!" drop during T.I.'s performance at the BET Awards the other night?
