Get your bandana out and roll your sleeves up. Inventor of the Jersey Shore sound, Bruce Springsteen officially has his own day in Connecticut. Governor Jodi Rell declared today, Tuesday, October 2, "Bruce Springsteen Day" in the state.
Rell honored Bruce in part because he and the E Street Band play tonight at the Hartford Civic Center to celebrate the release of Magic. The album is out today, not that anyone other than the band was particularly compelled to hear more after its debut single.
Actually, Amazon seems to have been compelled given the fact that they just handed over their largest single-artist store to the Boss. Springsteen and co. also recently treated their friends to a pair of hometown shows before they begin their tour, which is the first for the E Street Band in four years.
So roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair, it's Bruce's day.
