"First Wonder of the World" Carrie Underwood has proven her greatness once again. Carrie's new album, Carnival Ride, has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Charts.
Carnival Ride sold 527,000 copies, which makes it one of the best debuts of 2007.
The 2nd and 3rd place albums this week are also country debuts. Alison Krauss and Robert Plant's Raising Sand moved 112,000 copies, while Gary Allen's Living Hard sold 69,000 albums.
America loves country music. Compared to the rest of the music industry, which is clearly in decline, country seems to be doing quite well. This week's charts show that country fans are truly a dedicated group who remain loyal to their beloved artists. Either that, or they don't know how to download.
