Life is tough. Some problems are unavoidable, and no amount of preparation can help you avoid all the twists and turns that fate will throw at you over the course of your lifetime.
That said, when a car is driving at you, get the fuck out of the way.
An L.A. paparazzi failed to follow this precious life lesson, and was run over by Britney Spears on Friday. The photographer worked for TMZ (obviously). Here is what the website had to say about the incident:
With one hand attempting to cover her freshly acquired Jolie-esque lips, Spears attempted to exit the parking lot in her Pumpkinmobile while using her other hand to steer. As she tried to make a quick left, with paparazzi by her side, Spears' tire ran over our sandal-wearing photog's foot. Spears stopped the car, trapping our guy for what must have seemed like 4 hours. Ouch!
Some people are going to point to this as another step in the Britney Spears Downward Spiral, but honestly, you can't blame her for hitting this guy. He shouldn't have been standing there. I understand that people need to know what Britney Spears was wearing when she went out for coffee on Friday morning, but with technology being what it is these days, surely he can get a great shot from ten feet away.
TMZ has a video of the incident here. Sadly, they cut it off before the run-over photographer had a chance to give his take on the accident. I was all set for a triumphant speech about overcoming adversity. Something like this:
"Yeah, it was tough out there, but I had to dig down deep and overcome the crash in order to a get a good shot of Britney putting on her sunglasses. It wasn't easy, but I just thought about all the fans out there that would've been let down if I didn't get the pics!"
Ah, those paparazzi. You can break their foot, but you can never break their spirit.
