I guess they're serious about being as contemporary and are planning on inviting pop musicians for their EdgeFest and other events that include an "American idol"-style contest, "POPSearch 2007." Both will take place later this summer (POPSearch will be on YouTube.) Here's Keith Lockhart announcing it:
