The Notorious B.I.G.'s family filed suit against the city of Los Angeles an two former officers in its police department in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday. The family alleges that members of the LAPD were involved in a conspiracy that resulted in the rapper's 1997 murder and its subsequent cover-up.
According to the Los Angeles Times today, the suit claims that two former officers, Raphael Perez and Nino Durden, conspired with David Mack, another former officer now serving a prison sentence for armed robbery, to murder Biggie while acting as "covert agents" for Death Row Records.
Both Perez and Durden were named in the filings, as was the city of Los Angeles.
