Ashlee Simpson working with Timbaland, Neptunes, John Legend

Ashlee Simpson is on the cover of the June issue of Cosmo. In the magazine, she talks about her upcoming album, which will be a change from her previous works. Simpson wants a "soulful" vibe on the album, and tells Cosmo that it is influenced by Tori Amos, India.Aire and Fiona Apple.

I'm coming into my womanhood, and it's changing my music.

 

This record is not like 'I didn't steal your boyfriend' or anything like that. But who knows what's going to happen in the next few months. I'll probably have my heart broken and then end up with one of those kinds of songs on there.

MTV also reports that Simpson is working with Timbaland, Chad Hugo of the Neptunes, Kenna and John Legend on new songs.

Will this direction lead to a new, critically-acclaimed Ashlee Simpson? Probably not. But on the bright side, at least she's really hot now.
