And even worse, she's writing lyrics.... for songs Victoria has been working on with Patrick Stump.

See, Vicky Asher is working on some songs of her own, which makes perfect sense, since she has a nice voice and may as well spread her wings and be more than the "hot keytar chick from Cobra Starship." And Patrick Stump is helping her out, which also makes perfect sense since he records with most of the Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance bands.

But here's what Vicky had to say about one of the songs she's been working on, via MySpace:

"Black and Light' was recorded on Garageband. I recorded keys, Patrick Stump recorded the bass and drums with midi and Ashlee Simpson helped me with some of the lyrics.

Ah, yes, world-renowned lyricist Ashlee Simpson.

See, here's the thing. Ever watch a teen movie where the uncool girl in school changes her hair and takes off her glasses and gets accepted by the cool kids, only to be shunned again when they realize she's still the same dork they didn't want anything to do with previously? This is exactly what is happening with Ashlee Simpson, only she got radical plastic surgery to achieve her acceptance.

One morning, though, all the cool kids are going to wake up, and there's going to be a re-run of Ashlee's fateful moment on "Saturday Night Live" on the television, and they're going to start cracking up, realizing "the hoedown girl" is at their cool kid party, before finally, banishing her to the land of a career entirely fabricated by MTV, lip-sync embarrassments, and if she's lucky, a horde of teenybopper fans who are too young to remember her previous crimes against music, television, and movies.

Wait and see.

Writing lyrics. Come on, now.
