Rap blog Hip Hop Crunch is reporting today on Akon's plans to bounce Lil Jon out of the Guiness Book of World Records' biggest bling category.

The U.S.-born, Senegal-raised singer got technical on his plans:
"I got this one piece that definitely will tear the whole game up; it covers my whole stomach. It's the continent of Africa and the diamonds actually light up... It's crazy. And the country where I'm from has a little lightbulb that constantly flashes. Mine weighs about 10-to-15 (pounds)... Once I show it off, I'm gonna auction it off and all the proceeds are going to go to my foundation."

Mr. Thiam, I don't mean to judge, but you're almost in James Bond-villain territory here. If this weren't for charity, I'd most certainly wonder what sort of moon lasers and sun-blocking domes your work was financing.
