There are actually adults in the United States -- the bizarre state of Connecticut to be exact -- who have recorded music and put on performances of "Wizard Rock" -- based on the "Harry Potter" books. I hate these people.

A librarian in Norwalk, CT, which could also be considered "the armpit of the Northeast" claims, "There's never been anything like this before. There's never been a series of books that has inspired a genre" -- because she put on a show featuring "Whomping Willows" and "Draco and the Malfoys."

In case you were wondering what "Wizard Rock" is?

"Wizard rock bands play all types of music from folk to metal. The common thread is each group chooses a character from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter stories and writes songs from that character's perspective."

There was no official word on what the hell is wrong with adults who follow -- and take seriously -- the horrendously written "Harry Potter" books, which are really just rip-offs of Neil Gaiman's "Books of Magic" comics, either way.

I sigh for humanity as I press "submit."
