It's Friday... yaaaay! It's also TomZ's birthday, so you better send him happy birthdays in the comments, or else he'll feel bad and never write for the site again.
Anyway, we have some news, as always. The scariest album to ever be rumored is actually coming on. Punk Goes Crunk is really happening -- it even has a cover. Bands included on the album? Say Anything, Person L, Forever The Sickest Kids, New Found Glory, The Maine, Hot Rod Circut, My American Heart, and Scary Kids Scaring Kids, All Time Low, The Devil Wears Prada, The Secret Handshake, and Set Your Goals. I really like, or even love, most of these bands. But... can they make me reconcile my hatred of rap? Or made up words like "crunk"? I don't know that even Max Bemis has that much power over me.... The cover also frightens me a lot. Does this stand a chance in hell? I really thought this would go the way of Yo! Indie Rock Raps, but it appears this will actually be in stores on April 4th.
Las Vegas Weekly is reporting that Escape The Fate will have a new singer as soon as their appearance at Extreme Thing 2008, which is held in Las Vegas on March 29th this year. Reportedly, they've picked up Craig Mabbitt, who was in blessthefall, to replace Ronnie Radke. Hmmmm... I really don't know how that is going to sound... and I'm not entirely sure I want to. It doesn't seem like a fit, does it?
Want to buy some drums? You can buy three pieces of Tyler from A Static Lullaby's drums on eBay. Unlike the DeLonge guitar from a few weeks ago, this actually is legitimate, though I'm not exactly sure what one would do with said drums.
Looking forward to the new City and Colour album? You can hear clips of each song here. Bring Me Your Love will be in stores on February 12th.
In odd news, Every Time I Die and From First To Last will be on the E! channel tonight. I guess they're taking a break from their usual drivel, to cover something actually entertaining for a change. They're doing a piece on the Take Action Tour, as well as the Do Something charity. All the bands on the tour will be on the show. The show airs at 7pm, 11pm, and 3am, so you have ample time to catch it, or DVR it. [DVR is the greatest thing invented since, I don't know... something cooler than sliced bread, like cellphones and iPods and antibiotics.]
And that's pretty much what's going on. Keep The Cab in your thoughts, because even though they're doing well, you know they're hurting pretty bad from physical injuries as well as everything they lost in the accident. That's a band someone should buy a drink or ten for... when they're off their pain pills, anyway.
