The British band Hard-Fi described their new album, One Upon a Time in the West, as being “introspective and darker.”

According to front man Richard Archer, the success of the band’s 2005 album, Stars of CCTV, made them “a bit wiser.” Says Archer:
A lot of stuff has gone down [since the last album]. A lot of dreams have come true, but personally I’ve had some terrible times…This album was the first time I could sort things out in my head - maybe it is some kind of process for dealing with it.
Along with the release of the new record, the band has also announced a tour, which will include only small venues (1,000 max. capacity) in what are considered to be “unusual places” to play in the UK.
We wanted to make our live thing special. We’re playing interesting venues because we wanna make history rather than money.
Hard-Fi’s new album will be out on September 3.
