American Telephone & Telegraph was founded in 1885, but the current incarnation of AT&T that we all know didn't really begin until 1983. AT&T began in '83 as Southwestern Bell Corporation. The band was playing a show that was being broadcast live by AT&T, and a lyric dealing with President George Bush was cut out of one song.
