Even though Davey and Jade are releasing their electronica side project, Blaqk Audio, they've recently revealed AFI will release an EP by the end of the year, as well.
While doing press for their Live Earth appearance, Davey and Jade talked about Cex Cells, the long-awaited album from their side project, but also revealed vague plans for an EP. The boys seemed surprised the cat was out of the bag, probably considering the interviewer didn't know it was just the two of them.
I have to say, I am pleased about the EP. Not enough bands do them anymore, and they've always filled the gap between releases nicely. Especially in America, where we don't have the singles market like the UK/Europe does, it's nice to get new music, rather than waiting a couple of years to hear new songs from the band.
It sounds like the songs will be from their writing sessions for Decemberunderground, though it would be nice if they would release their cover of "Ziggy Stardust" on the EP, as well.
