Sony BMG and its affiliate 19 Recordings get exclusive rights to the "American Idol" winner, and according to inside sources/TMZ, Sony execs are afraid that winner will be Sanjaya.
TMZ reports that execs are nervous the Sanjaya craze will wear off after "American Idol" ends, and that his record would not sell. Hmmm, you think? Also, they are reporting that Hollywood songwriters have focused on writing songs for Sanjaya, which would lead us to the conclusion that he is the front-runner at this point.
DialIdol, which has been pretty accurate of late, has Sanjaya in second place at the moment, behind Melinda Doolittle. It also shows Haley Scarnato in last place, which is quite unfortunate, since she's really hot.
