I am very excited to have participated in one of the biggest album release weeks in the last two years. Collectively, we have sold hundreds of thousands of units in our debut week. This marks a great moment for hip-hop music, one that will go down in history.
What? What's all this togetherness, "collectively" bullshit 50 is talking about? When did he start talking like a 6th grader in an after school program? As overhyped as this whole thing is, it's been incredible to watch 50 Cent deflate so quickly.
On the other hand, Kanye responded with a party. He celebrated at GQ's 50th anniversary party with Beyonce, Jay-Z and Diddy. He also performed "Good Life" and and spoke to the crowd.
"To be a champion, you've got to take out a champion. It feels overwhelming. Everyone is coming up to me and telling me how proud they are of me," Kanye said.
If you weren't paying attention earlier in the day, when the numbers came in, Kanye sold 265,632 more units than 50 Cent did. Kanye clocked in with a total of 956,936 albums sold while 50 ended the week with 691,304.
