Cruise ship entertainment just got a whole lot cooler. On Dec. 21 and 22, American Express members will be savoring the favor and flavor, to which only they are privy, aboard the Norwegian Gem. One such form of deference that will be shown during the "Savor the Night" cruise will come in the form of an intimate John Legend concert.
The exclusive excursion, intended to celebrate the Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest fleet member will also present the privileged passengers with tasting menus by celebrity chefs Floyd Cardoz, Bobby Flay, and Michael Anthony, all of whom will be present.
By my estimation, there appears to be a mounting trend towards bringing a cool factor – even street cred – to seemingly cheesy/stuffy venues and activities. While this is a positive movement in general, I only hope it doesn’t degenerate into elitism, especially as regards money and access to celebs. Otherwise, it will leave some devoted fans feeling like they’ve missed the boat…
