Despite being the Big Dog Daddy, making appearances on all kinds of TV shows, opening a fourth restaurant and working on developing an acting career, Toby Keith is spending more time than ever with his family.
He's got his tour schedule pinpointed to the minute and says he's usually in bed at the same time every Saturday night.
"Me and my assistant leave the ranch at one o'clock on Thursday afternoon. We
drive about seven miles to a little private airport. I jump on a jet and in a
couple hours I land wherever the boys are set up at. We play that night, ride
the bus two or three hundred miles to the next venue Friday night. Saturday
night as soon as the show is over, I'm back in. If we're on the East Coast, I
gain an hour coming back to Oklahoma.
I'm usually in bed by 1 a.m. on Saturday night. So, even in the roughest part
of my touring season, I'm still only gone about 70 hours a week. The rest of
the time I'm home," Keith said.
