It appears the singer contracted a blood infection, "septicaemia", via a blister on his foot. As someone who hates wearing shoes, I shudder, but am happy to hear Kyle has received medical care and is on the road to recovery.
Our good friends at Wikipedia can tell you all you ever wanted to know about "septicaemia", but suffice to say it's rather serious -- "In the United States, sepsis is the leading cause of death in non-coronary ICU patients, and the tenth most common cause of death overall according to 2000 data..."
Holy crap. That's not good.
However, as reported by Gigwise, Kyle is doing well and is expected to make all their scheduled shows next week.
