The band slipped the following information into a MySpace blog: "Although I would love to, I can't let you hear any of the new songs just yet, unless you show up at Proud Larrys in Oxford Mississippi on Saturday the 26th of May..."
Well, here's something I thought I would never, ever say in my entire life: those of you in Mississippi? You're freaking lucky.
As for the rest, Chris Dangerous wrote:
You might know that we will celebrate our own mighty H.P.A. there and one or two new songs might have to be performed in order not to make ourselves crazy by holding them inside for too long. There will be stuff written by us for all of you that won't be able to make it, so keep your eyes open and and if you do make it here - Don't be afraid to talk to me about "Throw It On Me" -If you have a problem with it, that is!
"Throw It On Me" is the band's collaboration with Timbaland, and while I must say, I have a pretty big problem with it, The Hives scare me terribly and I'd really rather keep my mouth shut about that. And you probably should, as well, even though it's basically a rap song with a little bit of The Hives thrown in for some manner of relief from the rap.
I shouldn't even be writing that here because The Hives might come and beat me up.
