The Bad Boys of Rock Tour has added a handful of new dates. That's right, fuck you, uptight conformists! Hinder and Papa Roach are coming to your town to turn your sons into felons and have sex with your underage daughters! And there's nothing you can do about it, old man!!! What now?!?!
The tour was originally meant to last through the summer, with Hinder, Papa Roach and Buckcherry invading fairs across the nation. But apparently it was successful enough to be extended into the fall.
You will see some slight changes on the fall version of the tour. Most notably, Buckcherry has dropped off the bill, and is being replaced by 12 Stones. No offense to 12 Stones -- a solid act and possibly my favorite band name ever -- but losing Buckcherry is a huge hit. If I had tickets to this tour, I would be most excited about seeing Buckcherry (and that's by a longshot). Also, the new tour stops will not be at state fairs, most of which have wrapped up for the year, but rather at small arenas. Unfortunately this means that you won't be able to eat fried dough or visit the Technology Expo and check out the vast advantages of solar powered roof panels that no one will ever use because they don't want to lose the Yankees game when it gets cloudy. But on the bright side, there's less of a chance that you'll be impaled on a fence or sent to the hospital for moshing-related injuries.
Here's the bottom line: It's great that this tour was successful enough to add dates, but don't underestimate the value of having Buckcherry on the tour and having the shows at state fairs. With concert prices what they are, you need as many reasons to justify purchasing a ticket as possible. Buckcherry is a big justification. The fact that you can go to the fair is a big justification. When you can't hit on the Rubber-Ball Bingo girl and sing along to "Crazy Bitch," it's just not as enticing. I wouldn't be surprised if this fall leg of the tour doesn't do as well as the summer dates.
The new leg of the tour starts off in Texas on 10/27. Only one new date is above the Mason-Dixon. I guess the North is just too uptight to handle the Bad Boys of Rock. Either that, or they'll be announcing additional dates soon. It's one of the two. Here is the schedule, courtesy of LiveDaily:
