The MTV Australia Video Music Awards take place this weekend, and rock band Silverchair will be presented with the Video Vanguard Award for career excellence. However, bassist Chris Joannu says that his band doesn't deserve this honor because they never really liked making videos.
"We actually always used to hate making videos," Joannu tells Contact Music. "So they should really be giving this award to all those poor directors we've worked with over the years. But MTV have offered the gong to us for some reason so, of course, we are happy to step in now and take all the credit for all their hard work."
Great quote. The MTV Australia VMAs take place on April 29th. Fergie and Good Charlotte's Madden brothers will host. Perhaps a video excellence award for Natalie Imbruglia is in order as well.
