Former Creed front man Scott Stapp has been arrested in Florida for domestic violence. Police came to the singer's Boca Raton house last night, and now Stapp is being charged with "one count of domestic assault with intent to commit a felony," according to Jam! Music.
A spokesperson for the Boca Raton sheriff's department could not give any further information about exactly what happened, but reportedly no one sustained any serious injuries.
Stapp's wife, a former Miss New York, refused to comment on the situation, but did tell the Palm Beach Post, "It's just a rough time."
If this is how Scott Stapp treats his wife, no wonder nobody wanted to love Creed. No, seriously, we can't jump to conclusions here. We don't know what happened. Maybe Scott Stapp was doing a Jesus Christ pose, didn't see his wife coming up behind him, and accidentally struck her "with arms wide open." Either way, if it turns out this is true, that sucks. A lot of people were just starting to come around on this guy, and he goes and does something like this. Well, we can't support a domestic abuser. Hopefully Stapp will get his act together and do what every man accused of domestic abuse must do: Buy his wife a giant diamond ring.
[PS - I'm sorry if this story seems flippant towards the very serious topic of domestic abuse, but I can't help it, we're talking about Scott Stapp here.]
