Remy Ma turned herself into the New York Police Department yesterday after it was announced that she was wanted on charges of attempted murder stemming from a fight outside a nightclub early Saturday morning.
The 28-year-old Bronx-bred rapper is accused of shooting friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph twice in the abdomen after an argument over missing money. The shooting occurred in a parked car outside of Manhattan nightspot Pizza Bar. Ma then allegedly jumped in her Cadillac Escalade and tried to escape the scene, only to crash into a parked car a few blocks away. Police say she then hailed a cab and disappeared.
Barnes-Joseph, a 23-year-old real estate broker from the Bronx, is listed in stable condition.
Along with the attempted murder charge, Ma also faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
