Go figure.

Rage Against the Machine played the Rock The Bells Festival at NYC's Randall's Island this past Saturday. Zack de la Rocha addressed the crowd about recent news reports, saying his band has been misquoted by the "fascist" FOX News Channel. FOX accused Rage of wanting to assassinate the President.

Zack clarifies:

What we said was he should be brought to trial as a war criminal and hung. That's what we said.

This system has become so brutal and cruel it needs to profit from wars so it could survive as a world power.

He also asked Americans to fight the administration "with the same force the Iraqi youth are fighting with every day and bring these mutha----ers to their knees. Wake up! Wake up!"

I was up in Harlem on Saturday afternoon -- cause that's how I roll -- and saw thousands of people lined up for the buses to Randall's Island. These kids were psyched; Rage and Wu Tang obviously hold just as much meaning right now as they did back in the 90s. I also spoke to some kids after the concert. They said everyone was amazing but Rage absolutely killed it. So there you go.

Here's a clip from Rage's set. Come wit it now...

[I did a little raging against the machine myself on Saturday at the Met's game, where I was unintentionally drinking in the alcohol-free family section. Sadly, the machine won - I was kicked out in the 2nd inning, threatened by the customer service woman, and forced to watch the rest of the game at a Spanish bar I'm pretty sure was called "La Cucaracha." Should've went to the concert instead. Oh well.]
