Mobb Deep's Prodigy was inducted into the Pitchfork Best New Music hall of fame today for his recent Alchemist-backed work on Return of the Mac. The album isn't actually all-that-new (it came out almost a month ago) but it certainly is deserving of the "best" tag.

While this isn't necessarily breaking news or anything, it's worth noting that we are talking about Prodigy here! Dude hasn't really lived up to his name since maybe the last verse on the "Quiet Storm" remix and was last seen being pwned by Jay-Z circa '02. Also, the indie rockers haven't put a rap album in the category since Hell Hath No Fury.

Breihan's review can be read here, but don't just take his word for it...
