I, for one, can't think of anything that would be better for a recovering drug addict than to live with Shane MacGowan over a North London pub. Well, other than living pretty much anywhere else on earth.
Of course, as with everything, this must be taken with a grain of salt, as the story is simply reports from "a friend." That said, this is Pete Doherty, so it's not wildly unbelievable that he would be considering living above a pub with Shane MacGowan.
The bar in question, where Shane can often be found, is located in Highgate and called the Boogaloo Bar. One can only imagine how much business will pick up when the photographer stalkers, fans, and other people that Pete tends to attract start showing up. And don't forget the supermodels, as they are inexplicably drawn to him like flies to sugar.
If this story is true, I am sure Pete will have plenty of peaceful, quiet, reflective time, post-rehab, as he makes a full recovery. After all, there's nothing a recovering addict, particularly one who has dominated the UK tabloids for the past two years, needs more than having his address in the paper, living in an extremely public place.
Also, isn't Pete still banned from London? Or did that blow over?
