The newly clean and sober Pete Doherty has recently been talking to the press about life before and after rehabilitation. Concerning all the shows he missed at the height of his drug addictions, he said he can't even remember missing the shows, which makes it difficult for him to think too much about them. Nonetheless, he's admitted he is embarrassed about the shows he did miss and feels bad about the fans missing out.
Well, I guess I'm thankful for the sentiment, and glad he's not sending fans who missed out personal gifts, as his taste is a bit strange. At the same time, I saw "The Libertines" three times, and not once did Pete make it to the shows, so I think buddy boy over there owes me a show or two in the US.
Of course, if Kyle Falconer of The View can't get into the US because of a single drug conviction, it seems safe to say that Pete Doherty isn't getting a work visa any time soon.
Still, it's good to see Pete doing well. Babyshamble's new album, Shotter's Nation, hits US stores on October 23rd.
