Once her current world tour ends, Gwen Stefani plans on reuniting with No Doubt for a new record. Of course, her tour doesn't end until the fall, so her bandmates have decided to start without her.

Guitarist Tom Dumont told VH1/MTV:

Tony, Adrian and I have been busy preparing material for the album since this time last year. So we have a lot of instrumentals looking for words.

Bassist Tony Kanal is considering meeting up with Stefani during the off-days of her tour, but the bulk of the writing will have to wait until Stefani is free. The band expects the album to be finished and released sometime around the fall of 2008.

Rolling Stone spoke to drummer Adrian Young. No Doubt has been on hiatus since 2004, and Young says the time off was good for everyone. His quote:

We've been together since 1987 and we never took a break until three summers ago. Now the break's been pretty long, so I think we're not burning anymore. It's kind of nice to be hungry again.

Gwen Stefani or No Doubt. What's better for the world? It seems like we're getting both, but just for the hell of it, here's a side-by-side comparison:
